Another nice idea is, if your parents saved yours, use it. I have mine in a paper bag in the basement but it was way too girly for ds (it had pink ribbons) hopefully we get a DD next or it will just be passed down as people want.
I have a baptism preparation class this Thursday at my church and will be able to schedule afterwards. I'm aiming for mid October when DD will be 4 months old.
My mother in law is going to make her dress using this pattern (no cape or anything, just dress).
We are having DD's baptism on the 25th. I wasn't liking anything in the department or local stores so I'm ordering her gown here- www.onesmallchild.com
We had Dee baptized at the end of July. She wore the same gown I wore when I was Baptized during the actual ceremony. We had a separate gown for her to change into during the party, which DH got at a store called Strasburg Children. There were also several cute gowns at Von Maur, Nordstroms and Macys.
I am baptizing my LO on October 2nd; timing of classes and availability has us waiting another month. I have found that most places only carry gowns online (or a majority) and found them at Carson's, BRU, Nordstroms, Macy's, Sears, etc. I went to a Burlington Coat Factory but the one I went to only had 2 in stock.
If you find any by Vive La Fete, I get a discount from ordering directly from therm, so I wouldn't mind passing it along to you (I just have to place the order under my name). Let me know!
Pook, M's is gonna be at the end of November too. Are you doing long sleeves or short sleeves? I was thinking a long gown, but idk about sleeve length though.
DD's baptism is next weekend and I used my wedding gown and made her baptism dress out of it. Well a dressmaker did it haha, but she used my wedding dress to make the baptism dress, its a traditional long baptism gown. I had the dressmaker save the rest of my wedding dress so I can have a communion gown made for DD when it is time.
