Potty Training Weekend

We spent most of the holiday weekend potty training and after lots of stress, I think she is almost potty trained. Friday went well, Saturday was a total disaster, Sunday we about threw in the towel and then today we only had one accident.  It is definitely still a work in progress and we will see how daycare goes this week. I did a write up in my blog if you are interested.

I seriously envy the parents who have an easy time with this. Let me know if you have any questions!

  • Good for you!

And who exactly are the parents who had an easy time?  becuase I either hate them or don't believe them.  Stick out tongue  (j/k)

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.

  • Yay!!  Congrats on getting over the worst of it. :)

We too did 3 day potty training this weekend and I am so glad we did!!  I don't know what would be considered 'easy' but I kind of think if your kid is truly ready, it can be a pretty easy transition.

Obviously your reality is different than mine.

I had at least 5 people say to me things like, 'it took us an hour to potty train our daughter,' or 'she just told us she wanted to start using the potty....' etc....

    Indifferent

hmm...I didn't say anything about my reality other than I'm glad we started over the 3 day weekend.  Which I am, since it's a relief to know we're probably over the hardest part.  I realize it's a process.  & by 'your kid' I was referring to kids in general, not your specific child or mine.  I assume they'll all have mistakes here and there...

  • We did the 3 day method over the weekend too and it worked really well for us.  Day 1 SUCKED - like literally went through 25 pairs of underwear.  Day 2 was so much better, only 2 accidents (although she peed on the potty 19 times, who knew they went so often?  Guess we really were pumping her full of fluids).  Day 3, completely accident free, even over night.

She seems to be doing okay now that she's back at daycare, although she's woken up from nap wet both days (which wasn't happening at home), and she had a poop accident today.  She did poop on the potty on day 3, but we're still working on that.. :)  Oh and while out walking the dog tonight, she tried to squat and go in the grass (like the dog).  I caught her just in time.  She did the same thing while still in diapers and I explained to her that she goes in the potty and the dog goes in the grass, guess she didn't get that.  :)
