Trying to Get Pregnant

In need of some positive vibes!

Hey ladies! This is officially my first post. (don't worry, I read the newbie post, and I know -most- of the abbreviations... And I'm not asking if I'm pregnant. ;)  ) So, hi!

My husband and I have been married for 10 months (1 year November 6th). I'm 25, I'll be 26 in March. We started TTC in July, and this will be our first.

I guess I'm posting here for... Positive words of encouragement? I've found that trying to discuss getting pregnant/possibly being pregnant with people IRL tends to lead to me getting irritated at their "advice". People just don't think before they speak!

Anyway, I'm 17 DPO, and AF is officially late to the party by 3 days. I took a test on Tuesday, and it was negative. I've made up my mind that I will -not- take another test until Saturday. I'm trying not to stress, but it's hard! "Relaxing and just letting it happen" is much easier said than done! lol

So, advice? Positive words of encouragement? Or even just a friendly hello? I'm going to get comfy and try not to think about whether there's a peanut growing in this pesky uterus or not. :)

Re: In need of some positive vibes!

  • Last cycle I was 17DPO before AF arrived. If you got a BFN yesterday, it's probably accurate, but all you can really do is just wait and see.

I'm sincerely hoping it's not accurate, and that I just ovulated a little later than normal. It's just strange because.... *drumroll*... I'm usually so regular! (Haven't heard that one before, huh?) And there was last week when I couldn't make it half-way through my glass of riesling without feeling like I was going to puke! I made my hubs finish it instead. Hah! So, alas, I just will indeed wait and see. I hate waiting! lol

Welcome! I hope your stay here is short and sweet! I'm assuming since you've read the newbie post that you know you'll get questions about temping. If you didn't do it this cycle and you don't get your BFP (I hope that you do) then I suggest going to FF (click my ticker) and read the tutorials. It makes this process a little bit less stressful for me because I know what's going on with my body

I did try tracking my temp last month, and to be honest, it just added to my stress level. I was literally -obsessed- with it, and I couldn't handle it. My mom advised that I take a break from it, and I'm much less stressed about it this month. If I get a BFN this month, I will probably try tracking again. But, hoping for the little +!

Thanks!! I do too! Like, hopefully less than a week! LOL

  • I TOTALLY get how you can get stressed by charting temps. I've been charting since July and have had a hard time charting without stalking my own chart and wondering what every little temperature change means. It's tough when you are just getting started with TTC and get those first few AFs. I'm glad that there are other bumpies who are also feeling the same way as me. Good luck to you, I'm crossing my fingers for your BFP!
