cooking wine

HI, I made a dish tonight with about 2 cups of cooking wine. Is it okay to eat? I know it burns off, just had to ask lol!

Re: cooking wine

  • Yep, it burns off.  Well, it burns off if it got to cook for a little bit after you added the wine :-)  Enjoy!

This. Alcohol has a really low boiling point (below your skin temperature, which is why rubbing alcohol feels "cold" -- it's literally evaporating off of you).

  • Current research shows that having a glass of wine once in a while does no harm, so I think you should be safe with cooking wine. ;b

  • I plan on having a real glass tomorrow when we go out to dinner.

Cooking wine totally fine, at least in my opinion.
