Pregnant after IF

Hooray! Second u/s! And some questions...

We had our second ultrasound today (I'm 7 weeks 1 day).  The heartbeat was nice and strong and the baby was measuring right on track :).  We couldn't be happier!

I am supposed to start Crinone tonight (instead of PIO).  I read that it can cause (not cause but it hasn't been proven or refuted)  birth defects (abdominal wall issues and cleft palate). Did this worry anyone else??

Also, I am an idiot and can't figure out how to add a ticker to my siggy or adjust it at all!  I've been meaning to update it, didn't, and now I can't remember how...

THANK YOU!!

Stopped BCPs December 2008 TTC since June 2009 6 unsuccessful Clomid cycles Dx Annovulatory due to PCOS January 2010 DH-perfect 4 unsuccessful IUIs Began Lupron July 7 for first IVF IVF cancelled; overstimulation and coasting lead to huge drop in E2 New testing with an Endocrinologist...perhaps a new diagnosis... So, not PCOS but Hashimoto's Thyroiditis November 2010 After a looong break, started seeing a new RE. Gearing up for IVF 1.2. Beta 1=197!! BabyFruit Ticker image

  • Congrats! That's great news! I just added a ticker. Go to "tools" and click on "pregnancy ticker", pick your design and then copy and paste in your siggy. You can click on your avatar and right above it is the place to click to update your avatar and signature.

Sorry, I don't know anything about Crinone. I'm doing progesterone suppositories.

  • Awesome news!!!   My friend was on Crinone and she said it can get messy.  I never heard anything about the PIO.  I wonder why RE's still prescribe that.  My RE doesn't, thank goodness.

  • I'm on Crinone and went to one of the "best" centers in New England for IF. This is what some docs use. I haven't heard anything about birth defects but it is gross, you have to scoop it out of you and sometimes it comes out in different colors (don't worry it's normal if it does). I have one more week...

Congrats on the great u/s!  Ditto snoangel, I used Crinone along with PIO and while it's super gross to use I wouldn't worry too much about any birth defects.  I can't imagine if there was substantial evidence of it that any of our RE's would be prescribing it so much.
