Ammonia ?

I've been CD for about 2 months now and just within the last week or so I've noticed an ammonia smell from my dirty dipes in the wetbag. I never noticed this smell before so I'm wondering if this is the sign of a problem or if it's normal.

Also, for those of you that use a wetbag, do you zip it closed to contain the smells or do you leave it open for air flow?

    From what I know ammonia stink = detergent build-up and barnyard stink = not getting clean enough. You could do a strip or just do a few hot washes without detergent to get the build-up out.

    When I'm out and about I close the wetbag all the way in the diaper bag or stroller to contain the mess :) At home I leave it open for airflow. HTHs!

    Hmm... I was afraid of that. So I guess I need to decrease the amount of detergent I'm using? I have a top loader and use 3 tablespoons of Rockin Green and wash every other day.
