I thought of cloth diapering from the begining, but I just got entirely to over whelmed with all of the options and possibilities. Now that LO is five months old and we have a routine and I know more of what being a mom entails I'm curious about starting.
Is it to late to start?
Suggestions on where to go and how to start would be great!
Re: I'm thinking of making the CD switch
DO IT!!!!
I always wanted to CD also but was overwhelmed by all the options also. The ladies here recommended getting a trial. This is the on I got. https://www.momsmilkboutique.com/ClothDiaperTrial.html
I regret not starting sooner!
ETA: I've only been CDing for about a month now and LOVE it!
Definitely not too late to start! Actually, it's probably perfect because your LO will easily fit into one-size styles.
There is an FAQ link at the top of the board that contains a lot of information. It can be easy to get overwhelmed with all the information, but just keep reading and you'll figure it out in no time. CDing is really pretty easy once you get used to it. Good luck!
it's never too late! Especially if you plan to have more LO's!
I started around 10 months with DD#1. I originally wanted to do it with her but DH wasn't so sure and then we just got to parenting and I kinda forgot. Plus since our day care provider wasn't on board I figured it'd be more hassle than it was worth. Once we decided to TTC #2 and that I would then be a WAHM, the choice was clear. I told DH we were going to try them with her, got a bunch of used diapers from a friend of mine and we were on our way! DH loved them, I loved them and we never looked back! I started stashing up for 2 in cloth from there!
We have had great experiences with the bumgenius diapers. I haven't heard too many people who tried them complain about them actually. I also love fitteds just because of the cuteness factor. Many gals here love AI2's now since they are a combo of the cuteness of fitteds but with the ease of a pocket/AIO diaper. I, personally, like having a "varied" stash with all different types of diapers for different situations. I have had no issues buying used either. I recommend Spot's corner. Pick up a few different types of diapers and see what you like and go from there!

TTC 3rd and final!: IUI #1 in progress!
I'm hoping to make the switch this weekend and LO is 13 mths old. I don't really know what I'm doing, but I found these few tips from other moms that I'm going to follow:
Wash, wash, wash new diapers so they absorb better
Use detergent designed for cloth diapers, no softners or bleach
No diaper cream unless a rash then use a liner
Don't buy all the same kind at first. There may be different ones that you like better.
Those are the main ones I'm going to follow. Also the other moms said that just because the diaper is more expensive then another, that doesn't mean it's any better. Good luck.
