Ralph Lauren's son, David, married Lauren Bush (W's niece).  Guess she didn't take his last name?!

    I was kind of disappointed that she didn't take his last name.  Instead she's hyphenating.  Lauren Bush-Lauren.  Yawn.

    I hadn't heard she hyphenated!  I think she should have just kept Bush.

    Normally I'm all about keeping your own last name (seen a few too many divorces) but in this case it's either keep it or totally switch it.  The hyphen thing is lame in this situation.  I think she should have embraced it and been Lauren Lauren.

    To further develop your thought...

    Lauren is not not Ralph's real last name, right? Not sure how it works with made-up last names: do the kids take the father's real or made-up last name?

    Also, another idea for Lauren Bush. Some women in/from India take their husband's first name as their last name (my co-worker did that). So she could be Lauren David (Sounds similar to Larry David. I haven't checked, but I suspect it's a made-up last name too.)

    Or she could just be Lauren. Like Cher, Oprah, Madonna, etc.
