New Orleans Babies
River Parish Hospital
I'm new to New Orleans area and having my baby at River Parish Hospital. I recently toured the Women's center and curious if anyone ever had a baby there and what they thought of it.

I haven't had a personal birthing experience there, but 2 friends have had babies there in the past year and have both had good experiences. They're not as known for birthing like some of the other metro-area hospital; however, they are also more of a small-town hospital than the others as well.

Yea, the hospital isn't known for being one of the best around. I'm glad you've heard good things though, I know it is important to have your mind at ease about where you're having your baby.
When I thought I couldn't deliver at EJGH b/c of the insurance non-sense, I was pretty upset. I hope you enjoy the Laplace area... it's not perfect, but it's not always as bad as people say, either. I've been living here for 2 years, but I'm from the River Parishes area, so I'm pretty familiar with everything around here, anyway.

I know this thread is really old, but I just found it. I had my baby at River Parish Hospital a few weeks ago and had a wonderful experience with Dr. Schultz and all of the nurses there! You get so much personal attention and never feel rushed. I highly recommend it!!
If I knew or expected that my baby would need care in the NICU, I would be more likely to choose Ochsner or Touro, but otherwise I think it's a wonderful choice!
Hi Kelly_Lynn- I ended up having a great experience at River Parish Hospital. Looks like we may have been there at the same time. My baby is 9 weeks old as of now also!
