Please snuggle your babies today as much as you can!
This weekend, while we were camping with friends, Ashlen was involved in a freak accident that resulted in her getting a skull fracture. (My husband actually saved her life--he was carrying her and tripped over a rock, and instead of falling on her AND the rock, he picked her up over his head, so when they fell, she hit the ground, instead of the rock, and he hit the rock instead).
She went to the pediatric emergency room at UC Davis and was released after several hours of observation, and she is doing just fine. In spite of the fracture, there is no bleeding in her brain and the fracture is "non-displaced," meaning it didn't lodge in the brain at all. HOWEVER, my husband and I are complete wrecks, thinking of how bad it could have been, and we just keep picking her up and snuggling her as much as possible. I have pretty much been in tears since Saturday night, Even though she is her normal self (laughing, eating, sleeping fine, playing, etc) I am having a hard time coping with this accident. Once 48 hours has passed (which is tonight), I think I will feel better since she will officially be in the clear.
According to the docs, her skull will heal on its own in 2-3 weeks with no side effects or developmental delays. Please just send positive thoughts her way for that speedy recovery!

Mac and cheese lover!
Wow, so scary! I'm glad LO is doing ok and will send good thoughts that it continues that way.
I am happy everything is okay As parents we will allow our selves to be hurt to protect our children. Your DH did good and I hope he is okay as well. HUGS

Sending positive thoughts & prayers your way and cuddling my LO now
Glad you are all ok.
So glad she is okay! I bet your DH is just beside himself - I hope you both soon start to "recover"
I took a spill with LO that could have been terrible if I didn't ram myself into the shelf instead - it was nothing but totally scared me and took several days to get over.

UPDATE-- hubby is a-ok. He kept wondering "why am I so sore from this weekend? I didn't do anything," and I was like--because you freakin bailed on a boulder.
We thought maybe he had a cracked rib, but it's no longer bothering him, and he is fine. Thank you all for your kind words and concern.
