Northern California Babies

I wish there was a way to figure out how baby is positioned.

He is squirming around in there so much and I can feel two very hard lumps.  One up near my ribs on the right and another down near my groin on the left.  But I have no idea which is head and which is rump.  Either he's kicking like crazy - or he's boxing with bladder.

  • The head will feel very round, I knew Peyton was breech because I felt a very round thing pushing on my ribs.

And how fun that he is moving so much!

  • I wonder that sometimes too.

  • I've never been able to figure it out either.
  • After Bean was born I realized that part of my confusion was me forgetting about elbows and knees.  She would be really scrunched up and I would get a knee jutting out and then a kick with the same foot and I could NOT figure her out.  So, hands, feet, knees, elbows, head, rump- that's a lot of things to poke you all over...

  • My little guys head pokes out of the top of my belly, its a round bump that I can see if I lean back a little. I have had two u/s , and both times i asked if that was the head, and they said yep. Sometimes after a shower his head moves farther down, but I can always see his head poking out.
  • I knew jenna's knees were right in my upper left belly... and I could feel her back.... She used to head butt my bladder ALL THE TIME! Maybe the same for you?
  • Does he get hiccups?  The fact that my crotch vibrates is a sure fire sign that he is head down!

Also, ask your OB if she can tell next time she measures your belly, mine always can tell where the head is.

OMG, that's funny!  My little guy hasn't gotten the hiccups yet... at least not that I can feel

I didn't realize J got the hiccups untl DH told me after *watching* my belly move in rhythm! She didn't get them a lot in utero, but TONS since she made her arrival...
