Hi ladies - this isn't exactly a CD question, but it's ammonia smell/laundry/cleaning related, so I thought this might be the place to ask.
I'm trying to figure out where the ammonia smell in our apartment is coming from... it feels like it's everywhere. We are just starting to CD, so I don't think that's the culprit yet... I'm afraid it may just be the fact that we've been the victims of many a surprise pee attack on the changing table, so we've had pee-soaked changing pad covers, clothes, bit of carpet, pillows, etc. The obvious and easy stuff has been laundered (clothes, changing pad covers) but I feel like the stink is still hanging around... I'm not sure how to best get the stink out of the carpet, upholstered chairs, and other similar items. Any words of wisdom?
Re: not exaaactly CD related
You could try BioKleen Bac-Out on the carpet. It is an enzyme cleaner and there are instructions for getting odors out of carpet. I'm sure you could also use it on the changing pad if the smell is coming from there. As a bonus, you can use it on your CDs once you get rid of the smell in your apartment. I have used it to get cat urine smell out of carpet, so it should work great on your LO's mess.
If you can't find Biokleen Bac-Out, you could use Natures Miracle. It is generally marketed for pet stains and odors which smell much stronger than a babies. You should be able to get it at a pet store or wal-mart/Target.
Good Luck!
