Nevada Babies

Need your help!

Hi moms to be! I am moving to Las Vegas (long dramatic story) and need your help and advice. I am about to enter the 28th week of my pregnancy. I am looking for a OBGYN and hospital recommendations.

This is what I want out of my labor experience: No epidurals, no C-section, and no "preventive" cutting. A doctor I can trust and work out a plan that we can both agree to. I prefer a woman.

Thank you ladies!

Re: Need your help!

  • Welcome to Las Vega,s first of all. May I suggest Dr. Donna Miller and Spring Valley Hospital? I have seen Dr. Miller for years, and continue to now that I am pregnant with my first baby. She is part of a small group of 4 docs (2 women, 2 men) and a nurse practitioner. She has 2 offices, both are attatched to hospitals. Here in Vegas it is quite common for a doc to deliver at multiple hospital,s and Dr. Miller and her group are no exception. They deliver at 3 hospitals. As far as Spring Valley hospital....I've worked there since the hospital opened in 2003, and attend high risk deliveries. The nurses there will ask if you want drugs...and will respect your decision to not use them. We have all private rooms, a well baby nursery and a level 3 NICU (just in case there are unforseen problems). You can even preregister, so you don't have to be doing paperwork while you are in labor. I know Spring Valley also offers tours (I believe once a month) if you wanna check things out. I hope your move is as smooth as possible....and that this info helps you out.

  • Hi! I had most of the things you didnt want, hazards of twins lol! But! I did have a great Dr who definitely listens to the desires of her patients. My doc is Kellie Delozier, she has priveledges at San Martin, Southern Hills, and Spring Valley hospitals. You may want to post what side of town you are moving to, and research which hospital you want to deliver at, bc not every dr delivers at every hospital. I delivered at San Martin and had a great experience...godd luck!

  • Congrats! I am also moving to Las Vegas soon...I have no idea who to pick! Please share with us what you decide and how it goes!!
  • I delivered at Summerlin Hospital and had a very good experience.  They offer a natural methods class and have some rooms that are designed to hold a pool, should you want it.  The nurses where very nice and encouraging.  I wasn't able to have the birth experience I wanted (I ended up in a C-section), but they were still great.
