36 weeks & 1 cm dilated!

in 3rd Trimester
Just got back from the doctor--she said that's a good thing!  Anyone else showing early signs that the baby is getting ready to enter the world?

    woo hoo!  Hopefully you wont be like me and stay 1 cm until 40w4d when labor decided to finally begin.

    Yes, at 36weeks i was 2cms and 50%effaced. Im now 38 and a half weeks, 4cms and 90% effaced, and going to be induced at 39weeks for medical reasons. Im glad my body started dilating and effacing early it means the induction has a great chance of being smooth and successful, but dilating early does not always mean baby will come early... We wish huh! Good luck, it bodes well for you for a smooth birth.

    I just got back from the doctor and he told me that I'm 2 cm dilated! Which I know doesn't always mean that baby is going to come early or anything.....but I have been feeling really down lately and feeling like I'm going to be pregnant forever! So it was good to just know that I actually AM making progress even though I didn't feel like it at all.

    I just had an appointment today too and am a "finger tip" dilated and my cervix is "soft".  However, my doctor didn't seem to think that meant this baby will be necessarily making an early appearance.  Try not to get your hopes up too much or else it's going to be a long 4 more weeks!

    At just under 37 weeks, I was 4 cm. Today at my appointment, I'm 5 cm.

    I turned 36 weeks today and had an appointment too. I am 2-3 cm dialated and 50% effaced. Ive been having pressure and back pain, so its nice to know Im accomplishing something. This is my third, so I know my way around the block. Big Smile

    36 weeks and 1 cm doesn't mean a whole lot. Just FYI. You could still go overdue. But it is nice to see things moving along, right?Wink

    I was 1cm and 80% effaced at 36 weeks. It's encouraging to know that when labor occurs our bodies will have less work to do...but I don't expect to go early. With my son I was a finger tip at 36 weeks, 1cm at 37, 2 cm at 38, 4cm from 39-41 weeks.
