Trying to Get Pregnant

sharp pain in breast?

Hey, all! I hope everyone is having a great day.

I am 11 dpo and today I have been having some sharp pains that run through the right and underside of my right boob. I know it's common to get breast soreness as an early sign of pregnancy, but I don't think I've seen anyone mention they've had only sharp pains (though I'm still new to this). It doesn't have any achyness or hurt at all to the touch. Has anyone had this or heard of it?

  • When I was pg with DD my nipples were what were painful, not my actual breasts. If you are far along enough to be having symptoms it is likely you are far along enough to get a positive pregnancy test, if you think those are symptoms I'd test.
  • I had these last month.  I actually had an ultrasound done on my breasts because I found a lump and I was having those sharp pains.   Mine just turned out to be cysts.

  • MrsAB1316, Yikes, I hope it's not cysts! But now I know to keep it in mind to mention it to my doctor if the pains stay around.

  • Wily, cysts are actually pretty normal.  I had a BUNCH of them in both of my tatas!   They usually absorb back into your blood stream or sometimes will rupture which does cause some discomfort.    But, I'm hoping your girls are hurting because you are ktfu and not because of cysts!  lol...

  • It's common for me.  I get it every month before AF.  Pain throughout the boobs, and on the sides.  However, when I conceived DS, I had a very strong 'zingy' pain in my left nipple at 14 dpo.  THAT was unusual for me.

That wasn't true for me. I have been having symptoms (including lightning boob - which I also had when pg with DD), but didn't get my BFP until today. Some people are highly sensitive to the amount of pregnancy horomones in their bodies, but the tests don't always pick it up as early.

Anyway, lightning book can also be a sign of other things - mastitis (most likely only if nursing), cycts, infection, thrush etc. If it persists call the Dr.

Ha! That made me laugh. I have enough cysts on my ovaries already!
