Tell me about BATH TIME

Do you still use the baby tub / ring or plunk DC right in the big tub?

How long does a bath typically last?

Toys? Which ones?

Does DC try to stand in the tub and how do you manage that?

Re: Tell me about BATH TIME

  • 1. DS sits in the bathtub like a big boy :)

     2. It usually lasts from 5-15 minutes depending on when and what day it is.  If we have time to play, I let him play.

    3. I just bought a few small squirt toys originally and he's getting a fisher price tug boat toy for his birthday.

    4. Nope, he doesn't even attempt to move.  He's content to play with his toys.  He did attempt to stand in his duck tub, and I'd just tell him "No, we sit in the tub" and sit him back down.

  • Do you still use the baby tub / ring or plunk DC right in the big tub?  Right in the tub, both at the same time so DH has to be available to help.

How long does a bath typically last?  About 10-15 minutes.

Toys? Which ones?  3 Rubber Duckies and some squirt toys.

Does DC try to stand in the tub and how do you manage that?  One almost started to during her last bath but not really, yet.

  • I clean the sink out each night with Clorox anywhere spray and in she goes.  I have a deep sink (and a bad back, so the tub kills).  We alternate toys each night.  She stays in until she starts to climb out.  We love bathtime!
  • Do you still use the baby tub / ring or plunk DC right in the big tub? We use a Eurobath

How long does a bath typically last? 15 minutes

Toys? Which ones? Yes.  Right now we use a Fisher Price boat that has a bunch of sea creatures in it (lobster, squid, fish, seahorse, etc.) We also have 3 rubber duckies.

Does DC try to stand in the tub and how do you manage that? She just started this, though doesn't do it often.  I just sit her right back down and tell her that it is not safe.

  • We use an inflatable baby tub that goes in the big tub.  My 7 month old isn't quite steady enough to be in the big tub just yet.

Bath lasts 15-20 minutes.  She loves it, so I let her play for awhile.

Toys - we use kitchen stuff, like measuring cups, and she has a rubber ducky.

She tried to stand for the first time tonight & got a stern no & didn't try it again.

We use the Munchkin duck tub still, probably could transition to the big tub.

Bath usually lasts around 15 minutes. He loves it!

He has a set of purple alligators he loves to chew on. He has also recently discovered his "boy parts" and that could entertain him the whole bath ;)

DS doesn't stand on his own yet!

  • I still bathe with her, because its just plain easier.  I have a big jacuzzi tub and there is no easy way of leaning over the side.

It takes us about 10 minutes, shes got some toys in there, but shes still not too interested in them. She just likes to chew.

  • LOL! My ds also love his "boy parts". Sometimes I am afraid he will hurt himself. Typical guy!

  • He sits in the tub by himself. We have a rubber mat so his booty doesn't slide!

Usually 15 minutes, sometimes a little more.

He has some plastic little boats and some fish squirt toys. He has one particular boat that he seeks out and holds onto almost the entire time

No standing, I have a very lazy child who is just now starting to pull to stand without being in the tub. He just sits there and splashes.

  • Started using the big tub a couple of weeks ago.  DD hates anything involving laying on her back and is much happier sitting up

    5-15 minutes

Rubber Ducky and some stacked cups

YES!  My DD is all about standing right now so trying to keep her in one place is very difficult.  DH and I always bathe her together so one of us always has a good hold on her.

  • 1. She is in the big bath. We put her in there about a month ago.

    2. Bath usually lasts between 5-15 minutes.  Sometimes I have to drag her out!

    3. She has a bunch of toys in one of those bath toy holders.  I just throw a couple in.  Her favourite are some little cups.

    4. She tries to stand a lot.  I just sit her back down and  tell her it's not a good idea, and then she's happy to continue to play.  When she gets more persistent, then I know it's time to get out.

  • DD does not sit up on her own yet so I alternate from laying in the tub with a towel in the water so she doesn't slip and using the baby tub. Sometimes she just wants to lay in the water and kick so I let her :-)

A bath can last from 5 minutes if she's really tired and crabby to 30 minutes if she wants to play.

We have some ducks, a bath-ketball set (little tikes) that she loves to play with, some cups (like measuring cups but with holes in them) and her all time favorite, a wet washcloth to suck on.

I don't have issues with standing yet, but am curious to see what other say so I can stash this knowledge for when she does stand.

  • 1. we still use the ring

    2. anywhere from 10-20min

    3. she's got a few squeaky ones, and some cups

    4. No

  • We still use his bath tub thing but we need to get one of those things at wal-mart that they sit in that looks like a duck.

His baths are usually just 5 minutes or so.

No toys yet. Just the wash cloth.

He only tries to lean forward so we don't have the standing problem yet.

    Duck tub

How long does a bath typically last?

    15 minutes or so

    Toys? Which ones?

Yes - his fav is the baby einstein caterpillar. I've never seen it in stores but I bought it at a conisgnment sale. I also bought some wind-up toys that he'll get for Christmas and I already bought him a boat toy with some animals (I forget the name) for his birthday.

Does DC try to stand in the tub and how do you manage that?

    Not yet.

Yes. Ds found his "boy parts" a few months ago and must hold them with one hand at all times while in the bath (or during a diaper change).

  • Joseph has been out of his baby tub since he could sit up on his own. He was too wild, and using the little tub was actually becoming dangerous.

He takes about a 15-20 minute bath. He has a ducky, but generally, he's preferring to just splash a lot, and play with the bottle of babywash.

He really doesn't try to stand in the tub because he's too interested in the water. What I do have to watch is his tendency to just throw himself backwards the way he does on the bed. (He likes to bounce.)

  • 1. we've used only the big tub for quite a while now

    2. 15-20 min

    3. we have a rubber duckie, a cup and a washcloth.  exciting!

    4. he walks in the tub; we let him do whatever.  he's fallen a few times and every once in a while there's tears but he bounces back as soon as you throw a new toy in the mix.
