Hello everyone!

I need to go back to work in October, and am starting to go over my options for child care for DD Sad. Please recommend any quality daycare facility in the baptist hospital or Coral Gables areas. DD will be 12 weeks old when I go back to work so it would need to be a facility that cares for infants.

 Also, what would be a reasonable price for a day care that provides full time care (9-6, or 8:30-5:30, etc). I'm fine with providing diapers, wipes, etc.

    I've heard great things about Granada Day Care.  Canterbery in UM is awesome too, but may not qualify (I think wait list is large and only allowing employees, but worth calling).

    Thanks! I'm hopefully visiting Canterbury tomorrow...at least if my husband calls me back soon. I'm going to look into Granada Day Care. Thank you!!

    Unless you went to UM, Canterbury is difficult to get into. My knows Donna Shalala (he was a med school professor) and my husband is building her house, and we still couldn't get in. The wait list is huge. My daughter went to Granada from 3 months until 14 months when I pulled her out. I was not impressed at all, and they always have weeks off of school, and when you are working, that makes it very difficult. They did offer childcare during these weeks, but for an extra $200/week on top of the full tuition I was already paying. The infant room was not up to my standards as far as cleanliness goes. The teachers were awesome though. The set up was not ideal. My daughter was in the infant room at 14 months and when I would go pick her up, she would be walking around next to the 3 month olds, putting her hands in their cribs and pulling on them.

    Thanks! I did go to UM but they didn't have availability for the infant room. Its weird because when I first called they said they had one spot available, but that a lady was coming in the afternoon to check it out and she was VERY interested. She was trying to encourage me to pay the registration fee ($500 i believe) before that lady saw it so that I could hold the spot for myself.

    I found that a little sketchy so I didn't budge (especially since I hadn't even seen the place). I called back a couple days later to see and they told me they had a very long waiting list...so I guess they list must have grown a lot in those two days. I don't know...I didn't get a good feeling from it. Your review makes me feel better about it though I must say. A lot of people had told me that it was "the best", but I guess there's always a better place. Please send me a PM. I really appreciate it!
