Already uncomfortable at night

I have gained a couple of lbs....but I am already having trouble sleeping comfortably....is anyone else feeling this way? Isnt it a little early to be feeling so uncomfortable at night? haha! Im going tonight to find a body pillow.

Im normally a stomach sleeper, so I know thats part of the problem, I feel all off balance on my side, so maybe the body pillow will help!

Re: Already uncomfortable at night

  • I find keeping the room cool helps make it more comfortable. :)

  • I was a stomach sleeper until I was pregnant with DD and then it all changed. Even though I'm a side sleeper now I am still very uncomfortable and toss and turn A LOT. I was just thinking about that this morning and how screwed I am because I'm already uncomfortable and it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better!

  • My problem is the insomnia. I'm up for an hour, sometimes two hours, in the middle of the night. By the time I fall back asleep my alarm clock is going off. I remember having some sleeping issues when I was pregnant with DD, but I didn't think it was this early.

  • Me!  I am keeping my room cooler and using a body pillow and I lay on my side...works wonders!  I sleep most comfortably on my left side.

  • I have had a terrible time trying to sleep as well.  I'm hot.  I'm uncomfortable.  I have to pee.  I can't fall asleep cause  I'm nauseous.  I wake up cause I'm nauseous.  It's a no-win situation!  That being said, I'm so happy and wouldn't trade this for anything!

  • OP are you uncomfortable on you belly already? Your fine to keep sleeping on your belly until your body tells you not too! I am not a belly sleeper but have been very uncomfortable a night already, lots of lower back pain! The pillows aren't helping either!

  • I too am uncomfortable. It's hard to explain, I feel like I am lying there and it just doesn't feel right. Then i switch to the other side, and back etc. Stretch my legs out. Then curl them up. Etc. It's weird, my body is pretty much the same size as ever, why is this happening already?!

  • I too am a stomach sleeper and was having a really hard time adjusting sleeping in any other position.  I cannot sleep on my stomach as my breasts hurt like hell not so much because of the bump as its still early on.  I ended up buying a body pillow (u shaped).  It does take up half of my king size bed but it's been a savior for me I am sleeping MUCH MUCH better now.  It helps with my back pain as well.

This is me exactly except I wake up hungry not nauseous.

     this.

I miss the days when I could fall asleep in 5 minutes. took 2 hours last night. and then waking up millions of times during the night. I am holding out buying a body pillow (and everything else, really) until my 10.5 week u/s.

  • As tired as I am all day, I dread going to bed. I have a body pillow and its works sometimes, but like a PP said, it makes it difficult for middle-of-the-night shifts. Plus sleeping on my side is really giving me arm/shoulder cramps, it sucks! I was and always have been a stomach sleeper, but now I can't breathe while on my tummy. Finding other comfortable positions has been a hefty task. I also tend to wake up in the middle of the night and lay awake for hours. I hate it.
