We start our bedtime routine between 6:30-7pm depending on LOs mood. I start work next week and will not be home until 6pm or so and am dreading only getting an hour with LO.
What time is bedtime for you working moms? Did you push it back to get more time with LO?
Re: How long do you see LO at night
When I went back to work DD was going to bed at 8:30/9 because she is with DH during the day (he works an irregular schedule on nights/weekends). She can sleep in later than most kids who go to daycare, so we let her.
BUT - around 8 months old, it was clear DD needed to go to bed at 7:30. I barely got any time with her, so I did nothing but things with her for the short time I had. Over the summer her bedtime kicked back to around 8:30, so now I have more time with her again.
I pick DD up around 5:15-ish and we start the bedtime routine at 8:00pm.
When she was younger, she would sleep on the way home from daycare and that would help her stay up until 8pm. I would also cherish the middle of the night wakings (ok, maybe only the first one, the rest were just tough) and make sure I would give her an extra snuggle.
Until recently, DS's bedtime was at 7. He just couldn't handle being up any later than that. Within the past month or two, he has been staying up until 7:30 or 8. It stunk when I worked 7a to 7p, and he was in bed before I came home. But fighting your LO's natural sleep tendencies is a battle you won't win.

I just changed schedules at work (not by choice ..) and will now be getting home from work around 6:30 - LO goes to bed around 7-7:30 .. if he doesn't seem too tired I may try to keep him up til 8 on my work days - but if he's tired I will leave it be as he's no fun to be around when he's tired/cranky. Luckily I work 4 10s though - so I do get 3 full days off with him that are devoted to mostly doing things just us (and with dh if he is off the same days as me)
I'm done with work at 4pm and we start the routine at 8:30 for a 9pm bedtime.
