Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Wardrobe malfunction. Need Petite recomendations please.

I bought all of Adelias clothes for this fall on clearance about a year ago. Great deals! Shes 19 months, so I figured shed be grown out of her petite ways and into 18 month clothes by this point.

As its now in the 60's here in Ohio, we broke out our fall clothes this weekend. Every single pair of pants falls all right... right to the floor. Even her 6-9 month jeans fall right off ... nevermind that they only come to mid calf in length.

So now I have to rush out and buy smaller fall clothes in who knows what size so she doesnt freeze in tank tops and shorts.

Anyone know of brands that fit a 6 month waist and a 20 month height? (shes tall to boot...)

  • We've been doing Gap adjustable waist skinny jeans and adjusting them in as small as the elastics will allow. I think the adjustable waist began in size 18-24 but you can make them pretty small with the elastics. Any pants without the adjustable waist just will not work in our house.

  • I always felt like Old Navy stuff ran slim... DD had a buddha-belly for a while and it was always too tight, but the right length (she's tall).

  • My sister had the same issue with my niece who is very long and skinny.  She had to buy longer pants, but the waist was always too big.  I agree with PP about adjustable waist pants, but my sister just put a few stitches in the side of the waist.  They were easy to take out when my niece filled out.

  • Maybe buy leggings (possibly tights too?) so that you can roll the tops a bit?  They're usually fairly inexpensive, and you can use them under skirts and dresses that you already have from summer to ease the cost of the new clothes.

  • DD has the same problem and as pp said Old Navy runs smaller and they have adjustable waists which are key especially for their jeans!!  She also wears a lot of leggings.  I usually get them a size smaller than her age since they do stretch and her age size always falls down.
