Mocktails?

Hi ladies! My birthday is coming up this weekend, and I was hoping some of you might have some tasty mocktail recipes to share. I havent missed drinking by any means, but in honor of the celebration I think it would be nice to branch out from my staples of milk, water, and cranberry juice.

Any suggestions?

Re: Mocktails?

  • I like to mix sprite with cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime.

My friend also made me a margarita mocktail, but I can't find it online right now. If I find it, I will post!

  • I'm not a big drinker so I always order Shirley Temples when I go out with my friends. Sprite and OJ is good. I also really like Martinelli's sparkling apple juice. It comes in a fancy bottle. Big Smile
  • I would mix sprite with fresh fruit and juice, I make fake bloody marys... I miss my weekend drinks with my husband, he makes fun of me every time I make them he says     "Over there getting wasted Ludi??"  You could make fake blended margaritas or by the mixes that contain no alcohol. My store has them near the alcohol isle in glass bottles they are usually pretty darn good

you could try a fake sex on the beach 3oz cran 3 oz grapefruit 2 oz peach 1 cherry... here are some martha stuart ones that sounds good

  • Ditto on the Martinellis!  I was craving it last night (I was on a thanksgiving dinner kick...) but couldn't find it at our store :(

Anyway, one mocktail I make often when my younger sisters come to town is sort of a cherry/limeade martini:

Sprite w/ a twist of Rose's lime juice mixer (usually next to the grenadine)

Add 2 maraschino cherries, a teaspoon of their juice, and 2 floating lime slices. YUM!  (sometimes I also add grenadine, instead of the maraschino juice)

OH - and don't forget to serve in a chilled martini glass with a sugared rim :)

  • Margarita mix (the kind that you would normally just add the tequila to), but add seltzer to it instead. Tastes pretty convincing. :)

  • A friend makes virgin mimosas with raspberry lime shelzer instead of champagne. Actually is very good.

  • TONS! I'm a bartender, so I'm constantly whipping up mocktails for the younger set. Here are a few of my favorites:

-Peach puree with sparkling grape juice = Bellini

-Cranberry juice, squeeze of lime, squeeze of orange = Cosmopolitan

-1 scoop lime sherbet, squeeze of lime, measure of orange juice, stirred vigorously until blended = frothy margarita

  • An easy one that I make at home all the time is 1/3 orange juice, 2/3 ginger ale and a splash of grenadine over ice.  It used to be my hangover cure, still yummy now that that's no longer an issue.  :)

  • I like mixing Welch's sparkling white grape juice with club soda (about half and half)...a nice faux champagne that isn't so sweet as the grape juice alone

  • Whenever we have a dinner that I can't drink at, we just get sparkling grape/apple/pomegranate juice or some Italian soda! They're both delicious, and tend to look like wine

  • Over the weekend I had Martenellis Apple Cider (in lieu of rum) and mixed it with the frozen Barcardi frozen mixers). I really liked the Strawberry and Peach one. They make great Virgin Daquiries.
