The last few weeks have been awful. I feel fine, except for when it's time to EAT! I eat about 3 bites and I get either 1) grossed out or 2) feel SO full, I want to puke.
I can handle a yogurt and some granola, but that's about it. Today for lunch, I ate one pieceo of american cheese and about 5 bites of lettuce and instanstly felt beyond uncomfortable. I know my iron is already low, and now I get worried and hope I am giving the baby enough nutrition.
I also workout about 5 days a week, so it's hard to eat more calories.
am I the only one?
Re: am I the only one who hates eating?
I was feeling this way and really worried about calorie intake. I have not gained much weight with my pregnancy and had no weight gain in my second trimester. My appetite also cut way back.
Then at about 28-29 weeks i think my uterus got so high in my abdomen that i just couldn't eat much. I also got hit with really bad fatigue about the same time. Everyone told me the fatgue was normal but i just felt like i wasn't eatting enough.
I started drinking Ensure or Boost nutrition drinks twice a day. They are 250-350 calories a drink and you can find them fortified with lots of vitamins. I find they are far easier than eatting a bigger meal. To me the liquid is less filling and easier to get down. If they are really cold they taste good and its not a lot of volume. I have one for my afternoon snack and I sometimes have another one around 9 pm at night. I found it has helped to keep me from waking up ravenous.
I still have horrible heartburn, but atleast this way i know i am getting 600 extra good quality calories. I have found that the fatigue is better. I don't know if its becuase of the calories, because the hormones changed again, or just part of my little one's growth cycle. But regardless i feel better and a lot less worried about calorie intake. Bit of piece of mind for me.
Good luck!
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing! I think I'm going to try these. I like Cold food/drinks much better than hot.. so this may work. Thank you!

Good idea. I've been feeling crappy every time I eat too, but at least this will help the calorie count.
This for me too. Add the constant heartburn and constipation, and it's really hard to feel like eating. I've just been trying to force little meals, and not drink anything around the time I'm eating so I don't fill up even faster... maybe I'll try the ensure thing, too!
