I started CD when my son was 4 months old. I def. think it could save you some money. If you can I recommend checking out one of the free cloth diaper workshops to learn more (Soft and Cozy Baby, Greenberies, etc).

Ditto this- I didn't put my DD in cloth until she was 4 months because I was too overwhelmed by all of the terminology and choices. With DS we have used cloth from day 1- the only new diapers I bought for him were newborn size, and 8 fuzzibunz perfect fit pockets- most of the diapers he wears are diapers that DD already wore.
You could probably get away w/ buying a stash of diapers that could fit both of your LOs and just get a dozen more diapers than if you had only one. Also some say that kiddos in cloth diapers learn how to use the potty faster as they feel when they are wet more quickly. There is no evidence to back this up, but I do know that when my daughter was learning how to use the potty and still wearing diapers to bed she wanted to wear a disposable over cloth because she said she liked the way they felt better.
Daisyterp my mom has a friend that is director of a Montessori school that feels that kids potty train faster in them as well because of the wet feeling. Maybe I can get Connor out of diapers sooner rather than later!

I definitely recommend doing a trial program. Every child will be different - for example, my DD hates the feeling of being "wet" - so she never took to the prefolds & diaper covers we got her when she was a newborn (she was super tiny, so we started cloth around 1 1/2 months). Likewise, she wasn't a fan of Kissaluvs, or Grovia, etc. We finally went with a pocket diaper - BumGenius 4.0 (one size), which has worked out perfectly. Now, she can tolerate being in a cloth diaper since that diaper in particular seems to hold less moisture in the fabric liner above the pocket. Cloth has definitely helped us save some money!
We're going to do a trial with Soft and Cozy. I was so overwhelmed with all the options and terms, but they went over it in a nice and easy format that made cloth less intimidating.

Thanks, I am now super excited to get started!

Never too late to start! We started with DS when he was 11 months, and he only wore them for a little over a ear before he trained.
I'd recommend doing a trial program where you can try out all different types. I did one through Nicki's Diapers.
