We've been using the sleep sack (HALO) and love it--but I can't remember for the life of me when we stopped using it with DS1. He was also a very late walker and crawler and so trying to do everything we can to encourage DS2 to develop when appropriate and don't want to "over use" it.
Do you guys know when you're supposed to stop using the sleep sack? He's not swaddled or anything--plenty of room for legs to move around in there and arms are free.

Re: When to stop using sleep sack (NOT swaddle one)
I think it's when they start pulling themselves up on things to stand, but even then Halo has a early walker sleepsack that you can transition to if necessary. It's ridiculous-looking, but at least you can get away with not using blankets for awhile more.

Oh, and I don't see how they could cause delays. My DS isn't even 5 months old and he's already about 3/4ths of the way to crawling (he already does the mini-pushups, the swimming on his tummy, and pushing up onto his hands and knees). If the sleepsack is delaying him from crawling all around already, I'm GLAD. Haha.
sorry ladies--didn't mean to say that it caused a delay--I know it didn't--I just don't want it to impede his ability to move around more if he wants to. Like rolling around and such in his crib. He's a pretty good sleeper at night (THANK GOD--first son was horrible LOL)---so just want to make sure I do what I can to help it continue.
