Who else is 'working' on labor day?

DH is at work so I am with the kids-

we have a lot of fun stuff planned today- but definitely wasn't a relaxing three day weekend.

I am - my H works on most holidays.

He is going in late so I am going to run out to the gym before he goes in. The gym child care is closed on holidays

DH is on home call today. He was in until midnight last night, then called in the middle of the night. He has a surgery scheduled this morning. I will probably try to take the kids somewhere so he can sleep if he gets to come home today. It's raining though

Good news is there were a lot of healthy babies born in our small town last night

yeah DH tends to work most holidays too- I am already dreading Christmas- he is working Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day- and we will (most likely) be in Italy- so it will just be me and the kids- no family. We already discussed doing Christmas on that Monday (when he will be home) and just do it a day later for the kids. Will sure feel different this year. blech- but will make the best of it.

Stacy that sucks! Thankfully my H does not work on Christmas, I would be so upset.

The thing is, he doesn't HAVE to work, but as the boss he feels like he should - that it sets a good example and shows the people that work for him that he isn't just on cruise control. SO while it sucks for me, I admire his work ethic

yup- same boat here. DH is the boss- and he thinks the same way. Christmas this year is different- he didn't work it last year. He did work thanksgiving though. I am used to it.

Dh is home with DD today while I go to work. I heard him talking to her yesterday about buying a slip and slide today....And DH is making cubano sandwiches tonight for dinner.

Nope. DH is at home. He gets all the holidays off. However, I will be putting him to work on some stuff around the house to get ready for baby. : )

DH is working, but they're not hauling as all the construction stuff takes the holiday off. So he's doing in shop repairs and such. Another bossman being a good example:)

My job for the day is to discover what possesses DD#2 to dump out her entire toy box. My children just don't like clean spaces!
