What do "flutters" feel like?

My OB and my midwife have said that I will probably start feeling flutters soon. What does a "flutter" feel like? I've been feeling something that is sort of like gas--but in the wrong place, sort of like cramping--but not painful, and sort of like sloshing---like I've drunk a lot of water. It just feels sort of...weird.

    Exactly what they felt like to me. Muscle spasms. I wasn't sure if it really was baby I was feeling until one mmorning I looked at my belly and saw it jumping along with the twitches. then I realized I had been feeling her for a while.

    How exciting. I hope it is baby you're feeling!

    When I first felt her I called DH to let him know that it felt like I had a goldfish in my stomach and I thought I was feeling the baby.  It began to happen more frequently and I knew it was her then, but for a while it still felt like a goldfish flopping around.

    It was kind of like when your eye twitches uncontrollably but  in my lower stomach. It definitely didn't feel like gas or cramps for me.

    To me they felt like gas bubbles, then progressed to feeling like muscle twitches.

    It felt like eye twitches, like PP said. Like someone was flicking me inside my uterus. I miss the feeling of flutters! jealous.
