This last week was my first full week back to work now that school is about to start again. All summer long, I made sure that DH gave E a bottle at least once a week, and then every other day or every day the week before this one (even though I hate pumping!). Everything seemed ready to go, but this week she hardly drank any bottles while I was gone - maybe 4 oz tops from 9-4, and that included attempts to get her to drink BM from a sippy cup. Normally she would have nursed twice in that time period, which I would translate to 2 4-oz bottles at least. She did have breakfast and lunch and snacks of regular food, and seemed pretty happy otherwise and took fairly decent naps. Of course she insisted on nursing as soon as I came home/picked her up from daycare. Should I be concerned that she's not really taking bottles? Has anyone else gone through this?
Re: ack - bottle strike!
This was not a problem while I was working last year. E definitely drank less from bottles while I was working than she nursed while I was home on the weekends, so she definitely drank more in the afternoon/evening/early morning on my workdays. She weighs 22 lbs. now, so she obviously made up for it previously.

DS takes very few bottles some days - I don't think he's on strike though. With my mom, he always has 3-4 bottles, even with me coming home at lunch to nurse him. With the other sitter, he usually only takes 2 bottles all day- though the other day he only took one (it kinda freaked me out, but he didn't seem hungry so..). He does sort of eat on top of this (he's not a huge solids fan). DS is on the smaller end of the percentiles, so I'm ok with him nursing lots through the evening and a few times at night when I work.
I bet she'll regulate herself even if it means nursing a little more when you are home.. good luck!
Hi!
What level of nipples are you using? Neither of my girls have had too much trouble with bottles. But, we went through a period briefly where Phoebe would get really frustrated with the bottle and it was because she was still on a level 1 (the breast is definitely not a level one). We switched to a level 3 and she has been fine since. My only advice otherwise would be that she's not going to go hungry. I'd try to not sweat this one too much.
Hi! We already switched to a faster nipple, and when she does decide to drink it, she chugs the bottle down, so I know that's not the issue. I'm not sweating it too much, but I just don't want her to be cranky for whoever is watching her.
Thanks for the support! We should get our girls together!
Thanks, friend! I hope that bottle works for your sweet girl!
