My first one didn't really fade away and it was kind of jagged, but I never really thought much about it....and maybe it was because it was a quick, unplanned c-section. But for this second c-section, my scar is already much smaller...just like a really thin line. (And it's the same scar area..I've heard some people say they end up with two different scars, etc.)
From what I understand it just depends on the person. Some people scar worse than others. I had surgery as a kid and my scar from that is pretty much gone but my CS is still very much there. It might just take a while.
It has been over 3.5 years and my scar is still noticable. Luckily it is pretty low so you wouldn't see it in a bathing suit, but I am sure it will always be fairly visible.

I have three obvious scars. I guess none of the docs that delivered the kids knew how to cut out other scars or didn't care to ?? Oldest will be 18yo next month, one is 6yo and the other is 5yo. You can see all three scars. They are on top of each other but different sizes in width but you can see three scars. The widest one is the first and it goes hip bone to hip bone, why it's that wide, I have no idea but it is and you can see it as well today as you could 18 years ago. Also, I had staples with the first two cs but stitches with the third. Stitches that were supposedly dissolvable but five years later, I'm still pulling out a stitch here and there. And yes, they're stitches and not ingrown hairs.
Mine is a year old and 1/2 of it is barely visible and the other half is raised and red, kinda like rope. I knew it would heal that way when the left half slightly opened while I was still in the hospital. I really hope with my next one they can cut this scar out and I'll have a better looking one.
Mine from DD 3 years ago turned into a keliod so it was red and raised. Now, after my second c/s, it's red, but maybe a little less than with the first. And mine always itched after DD, even 3 years out. Might have had something to do with the way it healed though.

My dermatologist said all skin heals differently. I don't think they're "supposed" to do anything as a general rule, but if you don't like the way it looks Mederma is magical. Massaging the scar can help too.

its been a year here, my scar is seriously right where the hair starts to grow down there ( not to be TMI ) but Its still very visible. Raised and pink. Lightened a little but i do agree that everyone heals differently.

I don't heal well so my scar is raised and red. I knew it would end up like this though.

When I had my son, mine faded really well-- but it did not completely disappear. It was really light pink and tiny.
Everyone heals differently.
About a year after my cs's my scars completely faded to white. But if you got up close you could see it.
Right now my latest one is half white half red, but I'm sure it will be gone in a year too.
