So my baby book says not to eat any "raw" meat. Which I understand what raw meat is. Can I safely eat ribs? I know baby books tell you all the things your should do and shouldn't do and it's not always wrong to do some of those things. Like the great lunch meat debate.
So any women eaten ribs???? I love them but I haven't been eating them because I wasn't sure if they were safe. I think sometimes there is a slight pinkish tone to them. My DH says, pink doesn't mean raw.....but I kinda feel like it does to a certain extent doesn't it??
Re: Ribs
EW LOL!!! That's what I thought, but I guess I just needed to hear it from someone else! Thanks!
Hahah...that was my first thought too.
Ribs are usually smoked and therefore are cooked all the way through, even though there is some pink. At resturants they cook them for around 12+ hours.
So yes, they are safe.
My doc said you had to be careful with foods that are smoked. They are usually smoked for a long time at low temperatures that might not kill all bacteria. Not sure how some ribs are cooked but I am just staying away from foods that are smoked. I know its a small chance to get food poisoning or listeria but I always seem to be unlucky! Plus pork right now sounds gross
