Pail Deodorizer?

Any recommendations?  We just started CDing and the trash can (a flip top) is in the living room.  It doesn't stink but I don't want it to start.  Just baking soda in the can or do you recommend something else such as any CD safe ones sold on the sites.  Also, is the little satchel thing in the Kissaluv pail liners to put something in?  Was wondering what that sewn in thing is for.  TIA!

Praying this little one sticks!

Re: Pail Deodorizer?

  • I have some baking soda discs I bought at Target in the bottom of mine. They seem to work but it's hard to say.

Also everytime I empty the pail I wipe it out with a Clorox wipe then leave the lid off for awhile. That really really helps.

I use these as well.  Before I started using them I had the little deoderizer discs from Cotton Babies that only succeeded in making my pail smell like a combination of citrus, ammonia, and pee - I wanted to gag every time I opened it!  The Arm & Hammer discs (in the baby section at Target) have worked MUCH better at neutralizng the odor.  By the same token I'm sure just an open box of baking soda in the bottom of the pail could work just as well.

I also spray the pail with lysol, wipe it dry and leave it outside to air out for a couple of hours at least once a week.  This also helps quite a bit.  GL!
