I haven't posted on Bump boards in a long time so I hope I'm not intruding but...
DH and I have been through 4 IUIs and we were taking the summer off before moving forward with IVF. I had been meaning to schedule a Next Steps/IVF consultation with our RE but have been so busy with work and life that I put it off. AF was supposed to start earlier this week and didn't so on a whim I POAS on Friday afternoon and got a BFP! I tested again yesterday on a non-digital and the line was faint but was there. Three more sticks today - 2 digital and 1 non and all were positive. I can hardly believe it!
So my question is.... Should I call my OB/GYN on Tuesday or my RE? I fear that my OB/GYN office won't see me til I'm several more weeks along, though early in our journey he did detect low progesterone level and put me on Prometrium for awhile. Then I feel that calling my RE would be good in that they would tend to be more attentive to the care I need although they aren't the ones who helped me conceive.
What would you recommend? My IF diagnosis = Unexplained.

Congrats! I had a similar BFP with DS, I went straight to my OB but I worked with him and got in right away so it was easier. Most people in your situation would call the RE, and honestly if I hadn't worked with my OB I'd have probably done the same.
Good luck and congrats again.

Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.

Congratulations! I also got pregnant while planning for IVF -- we had the initial consultation and were just saving $ for it. That's such a wonderful surprise! I would also recommend calling the RE. In my case, my RE was the one who discovered I was pregnant because I was going in for a lap (to remove suspected endo, to increase chance to make IVF successful). They took good care of me -- basically, I saw them every week for either bloodwork or an ultrasound for the first month, until they determine all was well. Then I saw the OB at 8 1/2 weeks. Most of the time, from what I understand, OB offices often won't even see you until week 8 anyway...
Congrats and best wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy!
