how to get milk smell out of lunch box?

I have an insulated lunch box for S for school, and last year his milk sippy leaked several times.  I've tried everything I know to get the sour milk smell out, but nothing has worked.  I've wiped it out with bleach, scrubbed all the seams, but it's still there.

Any other things I could try?  TIA!

  • I got this stuff called Bac-Out at Sprouts and it is great for removing organic stains. I've heard that a lot of people use it for smelly cloth diapers. It has live enzymes or something.

OH! I meant to tell you that I was at Bed, Bath, and Beyond the other day and they have Clean and Clear foaming face wash! Oddly, some of the stores have absolutely huge toiletry and cosmetic sections (or maybe I am the last to know this). I was at the one on Brodie, but you might call one closer to you to ask if they have it. GL!

I live south and work north if coming south isn't an option and north doesn't have it.

  • We had the same problem and just left it in the sink with warm, soapy water for a good few hours. Smell is out!
