I'm working on building up my stash and so far I have some KL0s. I plan on getting some prefolds too - but I would also like to try a couple AIOs. Can anyone recommend a good AIO for newborns? Thank you!
I absolutely loved the BG AIO 3.0, however, they are not making them anymore to my understanding and they are being sold at a discount. If you can find some xsmall's snag them
If the house ain't burned down and the baby's fed it was a successful day.

They are still making the XS, but not the other sizes.
I really liked Lil Joeys from Rumparooz, but she grew out of them SO fast. She also wet through BG XS AIOs before they stopped fitting her - I think I got them on clearance on Cottonbabies at the time.
That being said, if/when the time comes again, I think I'm going to stick with prefolds in covers - I realized too late that you don't even have to twist or fold them any funky way, you can just trifold them right into the cover and that's usually enough for a newborn. Plus they go through diapers so quickly it felt like the AIOs weren't even worth it. I used some KL0 and GMD fitteds, too, they were fine, but the PFs were definitely easiest.
ETA - I also might look into the new minis that Blueberry and Happy Heinys are making. The cow print in my siggy is a BB mini pocket - they might be worth it because you'd get more use out of them than just a few weeks. By the time I ordered them (she was about 6 weeks) she was already on the biggest setting,, but they are still fitting her at probably about 12 lbs. They definitely would have fit when she was smaller.
My entire NB stash was made up of XS BG AIO and I loved it. I picked up 36 on seconds clearance and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It made the first few foggy weeks of new parenthood a breeze and I got no complaints from the people that came to help us. They are not cheap ($6/diaper on clearance) but I'll be able to use them for future LOs. DS was 7lb12oz when he was born and came home at 7lb7oz and they fit him perfectly. He grew out of the absorbancy and size at about 11lbs (4/5 weeks) and his OS fit perfectly at that time.
We used only AIO/pockets for the newborn stage. This was the only way to convince DH to CD so I didn't care. (I had a couple of WAHM fitteds to go under the adorable skirties my mom knitted for DD, but I don't think DH ever even saw those, hahaha he wouldn't have known what to do!
We had Grovia NB, Fuzzibunz (pockets), Lil Joeys and BG XS.
Of the four different brands we had, the BG's fit the longest. She actually still fits in them, I prefer the size S now though, for absorbency.
The XS are still in production and sometimes you can find them on Clearance for only $6 with is an awesome deal. The S,M, & L are being discontinued and are on clearance for 9.95 at Cottonbabies.com
