DS has a clear milk/dairy sensitivity. Every time I cheat and eat some cheese (and I LOVE my cheese!), his eczema gets horrible and he has terrible gas. Thankfully, neither of these things seem to make him uncomfortable, they only bother me and DH.
I have done so well with pumping and have a freezer full of breastmilk (probably close to 300 oz). I usually can pump what he needs each day, so he hasn't really needed anything but the fresh milk in the refrigerator. I know there was a period of time where I restarted dairy to see if his eczema was really related to my dairy intake. Things definitely got worse during those weeks. So should I keep that milk and try to give it to him later, hoping he outgrows this milk sensitivity? Should I just donate it to the local milk bank? My oldest frozen milk is from June, so it is nearly 3 months old. I think LLL now says frozen milk was good for 6 months, but I worry it is getting too old.
I pumped so much milk because DS needs surgery in November, and I wanted to make sure he would have enough BM to help him through his recovery. Luckily my supply has been so much better than with my older son, so I think I would be able to keep up with fresh milk. Just thought I would ask for some other opinions! Thanks for you advice!
Re: Should I donate my pumped milk? Sorry kinda long
You can donate or sell on this site I heard about. It's like breast milk craigslist.
