tips on potty training 2

I just got potty seats just so they can get introduced to them, sit on them, learn that it is the "potty", etc but am wondering how some of you did this with your LO's. Some early suggestions would be great. Did one of yours get it easier then the other? Just wondering how this is going to work with 2! I mean I know it will just like everything else has just fine! :)

Re: tips on potty training 2

  • I.m interested in tips too. One of my DDs tells us after she has gone poop. Sometimes she'll say poop and I'll check but there's nothing. Then 10 minutes later she'll have gone poop. We let them see us use the "potty", flush & wash hands. We will dump & flush their poop when posdible. Ive been told not to push training and be overly positive when they tell us about pee/poop. Any other tips woyld be great

I haven't started potty training yet, but one of my DDs does the same thing as yours. When she signs "dirty" and hasn't gone yet, I ask her if she wants to sit on the potty. Sometimes she says yes and when I put her on the potty she'll poop in it. Most of the time though, she says no :) Just something you may want to offer your DD in case she's interested in pursuing it a little more at her own pace.

  • Yup we do the same. Most of the time she says "no". I only have a toilet seat ring for big toilet. I need to get little pottys for them. Anyone have recs for a potty chair?

  • At that age, we had a potty chair that they could sit on when they wanted to.  We had zero successes until we did an undies only potty bootcamp.  They were clearly not ready at that point so they did diapers during the day, daycare put them on the potty every time they changed them, and we practiced in undies at night when we were home.  At a certain point it clicked for them and they went undies full time.  Once they were consistently dry at naptime we stopped doing diapers then (that took three to six months) and just last month Caden stopped wearing diapers at night.  My advice is to keep your expectations low and expect a lot of accidents!
