anyone not give a crap about baseball or football?

I was reading a book to DS the other day (Dino-Baseball or something like that) and it mentioned "RBIs"-- I had to call DH to ask him what that meant.

I DO love to bike, run, ski, etc. and watch the Olympics like religiously. But baseball is so BORING to me and basketball worse. Football isn't that bad, I guess.

No one ever talk me the rules of these games either...maybe that has something to do with it.

Re: anyone not give a crap about baseball or football?

  • I don't give a crap about them either.  I'll watch football and hockey but refuse to watch baseball and basketball.

  • DH is not a fan of football but is a big fan of baseball....me on the other hand is total opposite...I eat, drink, sleep, breath football lol

  • I only watch hockey!  Nothing eles
  • I don't mind baseball, but football is not my thing, even though I've tried.  A lot of friends right now are posting on FB, "Ah, my favorite time of year, fall and football!"

Not me. I'm sad summer is ending and I don't like football. Blah.

  • Neither of us do.  But I'm trying for the boys' sake.  We now have football on TV (college, because they actually play) and take them to baseball games.  Actually, I'll watch a minors bball game while MH is bored out of his mind in person.  On TV?  Not a chance.

  • I married a sports fanatic so I don't have a choice.  Right now we have baseball and football on two different TVs in the house and this morning DH watched a Scotland Soccer game on the internet.  I enjoy going to all games, but am only interested in hockey and baseball on TV.

  • I am not a sports watcher and thankfully neither is my husband.
  • I love them both but I played softball and was in band so I understand both really well. It's also a bit hard to grow up in the south and not have football beat into you. However I was just talking to my sister today about her dislike of football. I'm not a fan of basketball. It doesn't make one bit of sense to me. And, to express my love of football I will say someone almost died when my cable went out today with two minutes left and I missed the big comeback.

  • I think my family would disown me. Today, we had 2 tvs going with different games and had the laptop going streaming baseball.

  • I know the terms.  I have no problem with going to see live games, zero interest in sitting down in front of the tv to watch sports (thankfully DH is the same!)

I think the more you know, the more interesting the games are.

  • I bandwagon baseball if a team I like gets into the playoffs - but that hasn't happened in decades, lol.

    Football: I cannot stand it.

    Tennis: obsessed nearly

promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • I grew up in a family obsessed with sports, but managed to never learn anything about any of them. Now I have a son obsessed with baseball, and I've learned more in the past 2 years than in the rest of my life. I *did* know what an RBI was before, but didn't know much beyond those few basics.

I still hate basketball and football and can't imagine myself getting into them, despite the fact that Ethan loves them. I've found myself loving baseball. I watch the Reds even when Ethan's in bed and can't watch with me. Funny enough, DH is totally into all 3 sports now that Ethan likes them, and he's never been a sports kind of guy at all.
