Pajamas for cold babies...

K hates to be cold, and as a result we usually put her in fleece one-piece pajamas with a blanket [or she wakes up pissed in the middle of the night].  So...I know this has been discussed many times before, but what do you put your kids in?

K is in 18 months size right now, moving into 24 months soon.  Trying to decide if I should go buy a bunch of 24 months footed pajamas or look at something else.

Re: Pajamas for cold babies...

  • Right now E is sleeping in footie pj's, but sometimes she is in a onesie and a sleepsack (ranging from light cotton to thicker fleece, depending on the weather) and/or babylegs.  If it seems really cold, we'll put socks on her as well.

  • I would get some, you will want some for the colder fall/winter months.  I have some 2 piece I use for W but put socks on him. But I will be doing fleece once it cools down at night.

  • Since fall and winter are coming up, I'd buy 24 month footed jammies for sure.

  • I would buy them.  That's what we plan on putting Livy in when it gets cold again.  Right now she wears t-shirt and shorts/pants LJ sets, but she is not a cold baby at all!  Of course tonight she is in a Princess nightgown because I was doing nighttime routine by myself and I left all her clean PJs downstairs.  =P

  • FYI: Costco has the Carter's fleece footie ones for $8 or something like that.

  • Right now we are doing a onesie + hanna pjs (long sleeved/long pants one piece zipped) + socks.  We just recently added back the onesie and socks and it is helping her sleep better.

Last winter we did hanna pjs + fleece sleeper.  I stocked up on 24 mo & 2T fleece last spring when they were $3-4 each.

They have hanna pjs at costco.  I would also price compare the carters outlet to costco for the fleece ones.  Not sure with the 50% off + 20% coupon if the outlet is cheaper or not.

  • I'd keep buying them (and do). When it got really bad is put a onesie underneath but it hasn't been that way in over a year. There were a few times I used my body heat to regulate her temperature before bed time if I thought something was off. We had our heat up higher when she was really little and then over the course of two years stopes it down. We had it at 68 until the new one came along...now it's back up.

I agree with this also.  Hudson has been waking up super early and cranky and I think it's because he's been cold since his jammies aren't as warm in the summer.  I think I will invest in some larger footie pjs for the fall/winter also :)

Ditto this, Costco has pretty good deals on jammies.  Look for sales at the outlet as well.  I was just there a few days ago and they're on sale for $11, but there's a 25% off coupon.  Definitely don't pay more than the $8 or so Costco has them for.  I buy a year ahead, when they go on clearance in Feb or March.  You can get them at the outlet then for $3.99, and if you use a 25% off coupon you get them for $3 each.  So if you decide like putting her in fleece sleepers, stock up at the end of the season.

This.  Alivia is really good at standing, walking & sometimes running in her sleepsack so as long as I can find ones that fit she will be using them when its cold. :-)

  • Thanks ladies, I need to hit Costco tomorrow or Monday anyway.

I need to check my email, I know I had a ton of Carter's emails so one of them must have this 25% coupon in it!

  • We keep our house cold in the winter so we would do a couple layers of jammies and a sleep sack, the sleep sack works better than a blanket for us because he moves all over the crib.

  • FWIW, I find that Costco's prices are almost always better than anywhere else for Carter's stuff.  Carter's does the same stuff as JC Penney by always having everything "On Sale" but if you think about it, have you EVER bought anything from carter's for the "suggested retail price"?  It's just trying to make you feel like you're saving money. :)

  • Late to the game, but I'd totally be buying footed pjs.

FWIW - Madelyn is no where near potty trained so I know night time PTing is a long time off.  I bought her a mix of fleece two piece jammies and footed jammies for the winter.

William is in footed jammies all the way.
