Trying to Get Pregnant

What are you reading...

I have a GC to Barnes & Noble, and I want to get a few new books. What are you reading right now? (I don't like anything scary, LOL)

  • I agree with Jodi Picoult. I also love Wally Lamb, but his stuff is dark. He only has three books, the topics of which are teenage obesity/depression, schizophrenia, and the fictional account of the aftermath of Columbine. He's amazing at getting into his character's heads - including women's - but his topics are intense.

  • I totally second the Water for Elephants recommendation! Its really good.

I also really liked The Help. However, its a little slow starting. The first half is mostly character building. Somewhere around the second half, the book really grabs your attention.

  • I've got Water for Elephants up next to read, but haven't started it yet.

I am almost finished with Room by Emma Donoghue and would def reccomend this one.  It's pretty much been a page turner throughout the whole book.

  • My favorite book ever is The Stranger by Albert Camus. It, along with the other books I tend to like, is very dark. I recently read Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer. I loved it!

I also love the book White Oleander by Janet Fitch and the Harry Potter series. So many good options!!

Make an update post and let us know what you pick!

I'm glad you said this because I just started reading it and it hasn't pulled me in yet. I will keep on reading.

And yes I would recommend Water for Elephants. I actually read this book about 4 years ago and really liked it. The Hunger Games is a great series as well and it reads really fast, once you get in to it.

I just read these and LOVED them!  Now I'm back to all the free ones I can get on my Kindle.  Sense and sensibility, Pride and prejudice, Jane Eyre, Emma, Wuthering heights.....I love reading about how different things used to be!
