NTR...need some advice! (HR related)

Hi ladies, I could really use some advice on this one...I'm interviewing for a recreation therapist position at a local hospital (VERY hard to get a job there!), and I was thinking of doing up a "portfolio" of sorts...a few pages outlining my achievements and highlights of why I want this position.

Would you think this would help, or hurt me? I thought it would show my interest, but I don't want it to come back and bite me....WDYT??

  • Hard to say - is this something that is normally done in your field?  If so, then I would do it.  If not, it might be off-putting.

    Sorry, not much help!

  • I think it's a bit odd. The achievements would normally already be listed in your resume (bring extra copies to your interview) and ideally you'd discuss why you want and are ideal for the position during your interview. In my experience, normally a portfolio would exhibit samples of your work (e.g. samples of grants you've written, advertising campaigns/designs you've done, etc.).
