Sibling gifts?

I really like the idea of having DD and DS exchange gifts when he is born. I'm just worried that DD won't fully understand giving a gift to the new baby so I'm thinking just one from him to her. She will be 19ish months when he is born. Has anyone tried this? Any experiences?

    I had wrapped gifts at the hospital for my older one but it was more for him to have something to do and have fun while there, not for bonding with the baby.

    At that age I don't think they notice or care who gives them a gift.... they just like receiving and playing with them!

     

    Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
    Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

    Like howley said, your DD won't notice or care who gave her a gift. I just threw a couple of #1's favorite toys in my suitcase so she'd have things to keep her occupied in the hospital.
