The Facebook page is a closed group for regular Seattle Bumpies. Since so much personal information is available on Facebook, we want to make sure we "know" people before they are given access. For those that are newer here, please continue to post and get to know us so we can get to know you!

I think it's just prudent to make sure you know people you're going to share full names and locations and all with... it's not an elite thing or anything. Just privacy. Sorry you don't feel the same, but we decided as a group that it made the most sense.

This, exactly. I am sorry if you don't feel the same, but there is a big difference between a public message board like this one where people don't HAVE to share their names, and a Facebook page where you can see everyone's personal info. That being said, I hope you stay around and post more so we can get to know you!

As a mod, I know that no one was removed from the group. If you want to join, then rejoin.

I think when FB made all those changes to groups pages a while ago, that made a lot of people get dropped for some reason. Some of the other regulars had to rejoin (they were not booted).

I hate the way this is all coming across, so I feel compelled to say something. Admittedly, I may be emboldened by the 3 glasses of wine in my belly.....

For those who are new here - we had some creepy sh!t go down a few months ago that scared a bunch of people off from posting much of anything. Most people agreed that they'd feel more comfortable posting in a secure place. Thus the FB group. It's a place that is moderated and safe. And members can be sure of exactly who is reading what they've posted. That, unfortunately, means that brand new posters to The Bump do need to let everyone have a chance to get to know them a little.

For what it's worth, there has been much talk on the FB page urging everyone to stay active over here so that we *can* all get to know each other better.

I've been here for roughly a month and had no idea! Thank you for giving us newbies the gist of what happened. Being new, I don't take offense at all and can completely understand the concerns. I think there are times we wish it were more active, but again, I can completely understand! Hopefully I can get to know you ladies!
