Thea's first birthday is at the end of the month. Luke and Ella both had big 1st birthdays, that were full of friends and family. I had a blast planning them.
I want to do the same for Thea, I have the theme and everything. But, there is no one to invite but maybe one or two people. It makes me sad. Neither my mom (who told me she was coming out for a visit) or my inlaws are coming.
So, do I do the party, full out, even though it will seem kinda lame with just a couple of other people, not do anything and just have a quiet celebration with just us, or go full out and invite Andy's "work" friends/families that we occasionally do things with?
My confession... Just thinking about this makes me start to cry. I want my friends, I want my family. I want to go home. Not for a visit, but to get out of here. I can't seem to bring myself to really put myself out there and make friends. I don't want to.
Re: Birthday Party, WWYD? (and my FFFC)
I'm sorry you're feeling that way.
I've never lived away from family and friends, but I can only imagine how difficult that must be.
As for the party, I would do whatever makes you feel best. Honestly Thea won't know the difference. If you would feel better knowing you did the same for Thea then do it. Maybe as opposed to going all out you can do something else special just for her? I wish I had some suggestion of what that might be. I hope it all works out for you. Hugs!
Personally I would go all out, but that's just because it's one of the things I enjoy doing. Like PP said, do whatever makes you feel best. Thea won't know the difference, and no one else will be bothered by it either.
I'm sorry you're having time adjusting to your new home. I can relate.
I would probably just do a family thing. But then again, that's pretty much what I did for my kids anyway... a couple of my friends and whatever family I could muster up. So like 10 people maybe? including kids.
I'm sorry you arent' feeling like you're making friends there... I hope you can get yourself out and about and involved.... you need a support network. Hugs to you....
This sweetie! I am sorry. I would hate to be away from my fam. *hugs* to you. You can post pics here and we will all awwwwww for you! :-)
All of this, especially because Luke and Ella might really enjoy the big celebration, too! It might be fun to invite some of your husband's work friends if you think it will help you get to know them better.
