NT Scan not so good

Hi ladies. I had my NT scan today. The baby was moving all around. She was able to find the nasal bone, but she said the NT measurement was 2.3 and they wanted to see 2.2 or under. The baby's measuring 3 days behind which I wasn't expecting because it was ahead before. I'm waiting on the blood work but I'm really scared and could use any T&Ps you could spare. They said chances are everything is OK but it's still terrifying.

Ugh! I hate scary scans!!! I'm keeping everything crossed and saying a prayer all is well and they just couldn't get accurate measurements because babe was so active!

((Big hugs)) Chances are very good that everything is fine. FWIW, my MFM said that anything under 3 was considered fine for the NT measurement. T&Ps headed your way.

I agree, my doctor said was fine. T&Ps anyway though, I know it's scary!

I know it's scary, but try not to worry (easier to say than do, I know) as these are not diagnostic. T&P for your LO.

Thanks girls. I know chances are good everything is fine but it's still hard. We were so close to the cutoff. They said normally 3 is fine but for the crown rump measurement they wanted to see 2.2. So I did the blood work and I guess we'll see. I just hope my baby is OK. I keep saying "Maybe the measurement was off because the baby had its chin to its chest". I dunno. I'm reaching *sigh*.

T&Ps that your LO is just fine and they couldn't get an accurate measurement b/c of how active your baby is.

2.3 is not bad at all! Most docs just want to see it under 3. I know it's so hard but please try not to worry!

aw hun, I'm sending T&Ps for the LO and hope everything comes back great.

If it helps when we had ours they wanted to see anything under 2.8 - 3.0 range.

I am so sorry you are dealing with it. Big (((hugs))). Mine was 2.1 and the blood test came back low risk. Also, keep in mind this is a screening, not diagnostic test. As I understand it, you have to look at the test as a whole, not just the NT measurement. Also, this is a bit reassuring: https://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/antenatalhealth/scans/nuchalscan/#6

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I hope the bloodwork comes back and relieves your worries. I think the biggest downside to the NT scan is worry caused by iffy results that usually turn out fine. Hang in there!

I'm sorry you're scared, but I'm pretty sure my doc said anything under 2.8-3 is considered good so try not to worry yourself too much. Hopefully when you get the b/w portion back you'll feel a little better. *hugs*
