Re: ***Central Pa Moms-to-be Check-In***

  • Christina - would you please add me to the list?  I think it's about time to come out of hiding!

    Baby #1, EDD 6/14/09

QOTW:  DH and I don't have any real Christmas traditions and that makes me sad so having a baby next year will force us to be better about it, I hope.  Even just getting and decorating a real tree - we've never done!

I had my first Dr. appt Tuesday and everything went very well.  We saw and heard the heartbeat!  I'm about 8 or 9 weeks along.  I have another u/s next Thursday to double check dates.  I can't wait to see our little Pumpkin again.  Overall, I'm feeling really good other than being tired.

  • Sneaking in....Congrats, Bonnylass!  That's great news!
  • Congratulations again Amy!!!! Big Smile
  • Congrats to Amy!!

     1. My family is very important to me so we spend a lot of time together during the holidays. Our little one will be a part of all of the family gatherings/ gift exchanges. DH and I also cut our tree down each year so our son will be joining us (this year in my belly). I am thinking about buying him his stocking this year too.

    2. Im still feeling pretty good. Some days Im tired or my back may hurt a little but nothing to complain about. This weekend I have my shower. Im excited to get the baby's room together and see all of my family and friends. I had an appt on Tuesday and Im measuring right on track. I also passed my 1 hour glucose test.

  • OMG, congrats, Amy!!!!
  • 1. Most of my holiday traditions are simple things that most kids would enjoy anyway! I love Christmas music and carols, so I'm looking forward to singing with my baby! DH and I have a tradition of every year watching Elf, A Christmas Story and we try to catch Charlie Brown's Christmas. Our tree has white, silver, glass, pink and some light blue ornaments. I'm usually super anal about not hanging anything on the tree that doesn't match (probably because my mom was this way..haha!). I'm actually looking forward to future years of having a more personal tree with ornanments made at school and that sort of thing.

     2. Ugh! I feel awful! I've had bronchitis for a week now and it's not getting better! My stupid doctor (I seriously need to change, I've had lots of issues with her) gave me an inhaler and told me if I didn't feel better by today to come back and she would prescribe an antibiotic. Sure enough, I can barely breath and am still running a fever. So...I'm going in tonight for another appointment which means another copay. You'd think she'd be a little more proactive considering I've had a history of pneumonia and am pregnant. Sorry for the vent!

     Congrats bonnylass!

  • Congrats Amy!!!!!!!!!!

WE don't have any specific traditions.  We attend the candlelight service at church on Christmas Eve which I love.  I look forward to decorating a tree with a child when they are old enough.  Other than that just spending time with family.

Not much new, just anxiously awaiting my big u/s appt on the 13th.

  • Congrats, Amy!

    1.  We don't have any specific traditions of our own yet.  We spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my family at my dad's house, and we will this year and probably next.  But I want my kids to wake up in their own house on Christmas morning like I did, so we will be starting our own traditions eventually.

    2.  Nothing new to report.  Overall I'm feeling pretty good, probably the best I've felt all pregnancy.  I'm still having trouble sleeping due to hip pain, but I'm dealing with it.  And the swelling has started (I look like I've sprained both my ankles by 10am), but otherwise I feel pretty good.

  • Sorry -- I replied to the old post below before I noticed this one. Please add me to the list. EDD January 13, 2009, Baby #1, Boy.

    Thanks!! :)

  • CONGRATS Amy!!  I'm so glad to see you post your news.

Dan&Maggie, I'll add you next week.  Looks like Jan is a month of boys :)

     1)  I'm excited for our little guy to experience all of our holiday traditions, especially Thanksgiving at our house and preparing for Christmas.  My inlaws just moved close by so we won't have to travel for Christmas anymore (besides traveling for the day on Christmas Eve with my family, which I can't wait to take him to!).

    2)  I'm feeling well... getting bigger.  I had my OB appt yesterday and am measuring right on track at 29wks.  He kicked the doppler wand while she was listening to his heartbeat.  It was pretty funny :)
