So I've been back to work for a little over 3 months.
I have to drop off LO at the sitters and get myself to work.
I have a routine that I pretty much have down pat.
pretty much.
This morning I gather up: purse /diaperbag(bottles for the day in diaper bag) /tote w/ snacks for when I pump/ accessories to pump / baby in baby seat / keys/phone
and off I GO!!!
Well , exiting the freeway to work I realize that there wasn't a pump in the jumble of things I left the house with.
I think of driving back home, but traffic is even worse going back than coming. It took me 40 mins from the sitters. 8 am is not a good time to try to get downtown. Also I have a job interview @ 10 am about 15 mins from where I work. I would hate to miss out on a promotion.
Do I miss it? No, I can't, it'd look bad, and people talk. Express by hand? Does YouTube have videos ? I need to channel MacGyver...
Instead I check in at work let my manager poke fun at me dilemma and run off to Target for a manual pump.
FYI no Target has the Medela Manual Pump anymore.
Evenflo it is with those awesome Medela microwave bags. I rush to my interview, take a bite of some dark chocolate before I head in. It goes well, I think. In the back of my mind I'm thinking about being an hour behind my pump schedule.
Rush back to work. Sterilize the begeezus out the pump and start. I'm used to dual pumping so this might get messy. Thankfully I have extra pads.
I'm going to end up with forearms like Popeye and then I think "Wow, I honestly don't know how cavemen did this ....."
I almost fell out of my chair laughing at myself.
Happy Friday!!
