yes he has been it in for over a month now..He is 19.7 lbs and very tall! Soo we had to change. I have the safety 1st omega elite. I really like it & had no problems installing it. Also it fits fine in my car or DH's truck.
DD is about the same weight. We got the Chicco Keyfit 30 because I wanted to get a bit more life out if the seat, we just keep it in the car. I just bought the Graco MyRide from Target. See the PSA post if you're interested. They're on sale for $100 from $160.
Froggy is going to move into the Mouse's Britax Roundabout 50 as soon as he's out of the carrier (read: as soon as he's sitting up by himself) ... and we're going to move the Mouse into a Graco Nautilus.
Yes, we switched over when we bought our new vehicle last week (she wasn't too heavy for the infant seat but was close to the height limit). We got a Britax Roundabout 55 on sale for about $120 from Target. I've heard the prices are pretty good on Amazon, too.

I just bought the same one. So far so good! Abby is 22lbs now so she's outgrown her infant carrier!

Ha, DD is two months younger than your son and only a pound lighter. She's also over 28 inches and the infant seat only goes to 30".
We are waiting on an Amazon gift card to order our Evenflo Triumph 65, hopefully early next week. We're going on a longass road trip vacation on Sept. 15th and hope to use the new seat...DD gets pissed being in the infant carrier too long.
Unfortunately, she's not quite sitting up fully yet, so there will be a tough adjustment period when we switch her to the new seat and have to go grocery shopping or to a restaurant. I think I'll just use a seat cover and shove blankets around her to help prop her, but she's sooo close...we'll manage for the short time that she's still wobbly.
We never even owned an infant seat (just used the convertible from the beginning), so I'm no help there, but we have the Evenflo Triumph and really, really like it.
DS2 is still in the infant seat and probably will be for sometime..he is only 15lbs 14oz and about 25 inches tall..hes a tiny guy but once we do move him we are planning on getting a First Years True Fit for him

I'm going to have to switch soon as DD is already 28" (still trying to figure out who he gets her tall from) and our Chicco Keyfit goes up to 30". Was just about to start researching today!
We just got the Sunshine Radian XTSL and installed it on Tuesday this week. So far I really like it! DS is about 18 lbs and even though his carrier goes up to 30lbs I could barely lug it around so we decided to go with the convertable.
We have one of the higher limit infant seats (32 lbs and 32 inches). This being said, it is getting heavy and ackward so we have it perminently installed in my moms car and I have a Graco MyRide 65 in my car.
Zoe has been in one since birth, we just skipped the infant seat. We have a Graco My Ride in my car and the Cosco Scenera. Both of these seats worked really well for us. Zoe has hip dysplasia and doesn't fit into a normal seat now so we use a Britax Hippo and I really like that seat too. I like the straps more in the Britax.

DD is moving into DSs Evenflo Triumph LX next week when we get DS Britax combination booster seat from Amazon. I absolutely love the Evenflo and they have high safety ratings!

The Evenflo has recline features! DS loved this. Plus it sits up high so they can see out the window.
we have the evenflo symphony for ds so I'm trying to decide to stay with that one or if any newer better ones have come out.
I just saw the BRU trade in event and am so happy! I'm definetly taking advantage of that!
you realize that taking off 25% puts them on par with everyone else's prices, right? You really don't save anything except storage space.
We traded in a 20 year old car seat at BRU for a Safety 1st Complete Air 65. I researched prices like crazy before buying. The seat was 169.99 which is about $10 cheaper than everywhere else I found. I ended up saving $42 off so I bought the extended warranty which was 22.99. I think the trade in saved me a good chunk of money.

I think most of us are, now. We switched when DS was 18 lbs and 28 inches long at 6.5 months. We got a Britax Boulevard and Sunshine Radian.
Also heard good things about the Graco MyRide 65 and the Evenflo Triumph.

I think ours is 22lbs. Either way we havve already switched to a convertable.
If you are gonna buy from from BRU I would either trade yours in or go to a garage sale and find a cheap one to trade in for the 25% off.
Evenflo Symphony 65. It's awesome. Easy to use and clean.
We switched them at 5 months-ish. They are tall, it was heavy carrying two and they retain heat like nobody's business and it was getting hot here.
