If you had a sprinkle did you receive gifts?

If so, how did people know what to get you?

I feel like it's probably inappropriate to create a registry, and I am not expecting gifts. That being said there are a few things that I need, and a couple that I want so I am not sure what to do. I hope I don't sound present grabby, I am trying to avoid that!

I went to a sprinkle recently and they had a small registry. I knitted a blanket, brought some left over newborn diapers from LO, and got something small on the reg. I think it's fine.

I registered, but I wanted to have the completion coupons. My mom threw me a little shower and people bought stuff off the registry. I don't think it's tacky. Like I said, I wanted the completion coupons and it gave me a chance to put down on exactly what I wanted for this baby. :-)

I had a sprinkle and I had a registry. It was a little different though because G was DHs first baby. Also the age gap meant I had nothing left from my first baby. Even so, I think it is perfectly fine to have a registry! Then if someone asks you what you need, you can say, "well, I do have a registry if you want to check it out". I was surprised at the amount of items purchased from it. The sprinkle was from my sister, just a little get together for family (my side). Most of the things purchased from my registry were from DHs family who are widely scattered across the globe. I also used my registry which was on Amazon as a list of things I needed, helped keep me organized.

I never had one, but when we have thrown sprinkles for other people, we have asked the moms to register. Otherwise people will ask around to find out what the moms want, and often (especially older women) will get frustrated if there is no registry or known wishlist. I think it's fine, as long as you're not running around telling people they should be buying you a gift off your registry or handing out the little cards from BRU.

I would agree with this. It's not like you're forcing people to buy you anything - but people like to know what you really want/need instead of getting random stuff

I'm not having a shower or a sprinkle, but I still registered for the freebees and completion coupons.

I'd say, just register... if people ask if you are registered tell them where. I'm sure everyone will want to get you at least a little something. Baby stuff is always so fun to buy.
