  (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?

  Libby turned 19 months last Thursday and I'll be 20 weeks PG on Tuesday.

  (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

  Feeling emotional...excited, overwhelmed, slightly nervous, but happy....we just closed on our first house. We move in next Saturday. We didn't think we'd be able to consider buying until after 2013, but the right situation presented itself at the right time for us. It's a HUGE responsibility though and that is really scary...I've been a renter my entire life!

  (3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

  BIG U/S on 09.09.11. I hope they still say he's a boy! LOL! They said he was at the 12 week scan as well as at 16 weeks at my OBs office.

  (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?

  Libby's become aggressive towards our pugs...she wants to sit on them, pull their tails, hold their paws/legs so they cannot get away. So far, they're tolerant of her behavior, but I want her to stop. She's been SO good with them up to now, I have no idea where this has come from...

  She also continues to be whiny and clingy...I guess she's out of sorts with all the packing, etc. I am working on teaching her the difference between speaking in her regular voice and whining. I want to nip the whining ASAP! I cannot stand kids that whine!

  (5) What's one item you've splurged on preparing for baby or since becoming a parent?
  

   

  We were very frugal preparing for Libby's arrival...most things we either gifted to us and/or purchased second-hand. So for us, buying a brand-new Ergo as well as going for the Britax Marathon CS70 were our major purchases, brand-new.

  As we prepare for baby #2 we have almost everything we need...mainly just need to get some clothing for him. However, I would love to get a woven wrap, but not sure if I can justify $100+ on it. We're also debating purchasing a double stroller...I don't feel we need it (Libby is not into strolling anymore)...but I have to work it out with DH and my mom (primary DC)...if we do get a double, I am going to try and find a decent second-hand one. 

  (6) Have you read/are you reading any books on child rearing? If so, what are some of your favorites?

  I am more of a website person...love Dr. Laura Markham's daily blog posts at www.ahaparenting.com. I also like Dr. Sear's website. And I belong to the Positive Discipline Yahoo Group and get their daily digest email, which is always insightful for me.

  (7) Where does baby sleep? If it's changed to a different arrangement, how did you manage the transition?

  We bedshared until she was 11.5 months and then transitioned her to her crib in her own room. We'll probably do the same with Baby #2.

  do it!  Love mine and wish I had used it more.  And most wovens retain their value really well.  Mine still looks brand new even with moderate use from age 5mo-15 or so months - haven't used it since spring. And sometimes a "broken in" one is coveted anyways. Back when I visited thebabywearer.com forums a lot I saw that mine (girasol snow rainbow) was selling for almost as much as retail since there was always a wait list.

  (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?  one week shy of one year!!!!  I can't believe it!!

  (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?  I can see a cainine poking through which I was beginning to wonder if we were ever going to get anymore teeth.  and we are all getting over a nasty stomach bug but (knock on wood) it seems the worst is behind us.

  (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?  we are still behind  on shots, but I don't plan on going until after her 1st bday to do her 1 year visit and hopefully catch up on some of the shots.

  (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?  stomach bug!

  (5) What's one item you've splurged on preparing for baby or since becoming a parent?  a lot of our big items were gifts, but we bought Britax convertible carseats a few months ago.  We got a good deal on Amazon.  It was still pricey, but worth it.  Also the tutu/bday outfit,I ordered for her was probably unnecessary but really stinkin' cute!

  (6) Have you read/are you reading any books on child rearing? If so, what are some of your favorites?  i really like babble.com & dr. sears. and I still get the babycenter & wtewye.com updates. Haven't read very many books since LO was born! definitely more of a website person these days.

  (7) Where does baby sleep? If it's changed to a different arrangement, how did you manage the transition?  LO slept in her bed in our room for probably the 1st 6 months.  Then she started getting sick from daycare and teething and slowly worked herself into our bed.  She still goes down until about midnight in her bed, but then she wakes up and gets in our bed.  At some point soon, she's got to stay in her bed & eventually move into her room, but we're just not there yet.

  (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?  R will be 5 months in just 2 days!
  (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?  Today I have a cold so it's been a long day, but we are finally in our new home and almost settled.  It's a great feeling!
  (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?  We are not due until our 6 month appointment in October.
  (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?  R was only eating about 2-3 oz/ feeding and extremely fussy last week and I took him to the doc because I was afraid his reflux was coming back.  Luckily he is still gaining weight so his pedi just advised I start putting rice in his bottles in addition to the Zantac he is already taking and oatmeal I am feeding him from the spoon in the am.  Since starting this, he has been doing much better.
  (5) What's one item you've splurged on preparing for baby or since becoming a parent?  We splurged on the BOB Revolution stroller.  Can't wait for the weather to cool off a bit so we can go for some morning runs.
  (6) Have you read/are you reading any books on child rearing? I have read the Baby Whisperer, Baby Wise and the Ferber Method.  I really liked the Baby Whisperer out of the 3 the best, but we follow all of these methods pretty losely.
  (7) Where does baby sleep? If it's changed to a different arrangement, how did you manage the transition?  He currently naps in his room, in his swing   It's the only way I can get him to sleep for 2 hours at a time.  He currently takes about 3 2 hour naps a day in it, but sleeps in his crib at night.  He has always slept good in his crib, but now that he figured out how to roll over he gets fussy because his binky falls out and can't put it back in his mouth.  He was actually sleeping in his crib since about 1 month old.  Personally it works best for us because I'm a light sleeper and his room was right next door to ours back in the Denver house.  Now that we are in AZ and our new house, it's a much longer walk but it's nice for him to be in his own bed.  I think he actually sleeps better when he is in his crib and not in bed with us.  There are times though that he sleeps in our bed in the am because I'm just too tired to keep walking to his room

  13 months

  (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

  Tired, but good.  School started two weeks ago.  Things are very busy, but life is good!

  (3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

  Haven't even made his 15 months appt. yet.

  (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?

  Tiredness.  He's not napping well at school, probably due to the fact that he transition to the toddler room in a few weeks, so they are already working him towards the toddler schedule.  They only take one nap all together in that room after lunch, and he still really wants his morning nap.   He's okay with it during the day, but we're only home an hour in the evening and he already wants to go to bed.  It's making me really sad and I really miss him.

  (5) What's one item you've splurged on preparing for baby or since becoming a parent?

  We definitely splurged on our stroller (UppaBaby Vista) before he was born.  And now, even though I try to be thrifty as far as clothes go, I do allow myself one outfit from one of my favorite stores (Janie & Jack, Gymboree, or Gap) for him every season.

  (6) Have you read/are you reading any books on child rearing? If so, what are some of your favorites?

  I haven't read any in a while, but I did at one point  like "Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child" and "The Baby Whisperer"  "Dr. Sears" is also helpful.

  (7) Where does baby sleep? If it's changed to a different arrangement, how did you manage the transition?

  He sleeps only in his crib now.  He did sleep in the ARCS for the first three months, then a combination of crib, ARCS, and our bed for several months.  Since 7 months, though, he's been only in the crib.

  (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 16 months
  (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? The boys are getting more and more independent. They don't want help getting food on forks or spoons (even if they're struggling), like to try to put on shirts and socks themselves, that kind of thing. It's both awesome to watch and occasionally frustrating lol.
  (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? They had their appointment with the ear specialist earlier this week. He said they don't need ear tubes right now, but since they have a history of ear infections and there was a bit of fluid in one of Dash's ears, to monitor the boys carefully and call him if the infections start showing up again.
  (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? Boundary testing. One of the boys will run over and start playing with something they know is off limits. Once I get him away, the other boy will take a turn. Repeat every 30 seconds. I'm trying SO hard to be patient but it's tough!
  (5) What's one item you've splurged on preparing for baby or since becoming a parent? Our stroller was probably the only real splurge. It's the Baby Jogger City Mini Double and worth.every.penny. I've raved about it here before, but it really is awesome! Light, maneuverable, fits through every door I've aimed it at, super easy to fold (and folds VERY flat)...I think, "Thank god we spent the money on this!" every single time I use it!
  (6) Have you read/are you reading any books on child rearing? If so, what are some of your favorites? After reading LOTS of reviews and synopses to find the books that best fit my parenting approach, I just bought The Happiest Toddler on the Block and Positive Discipline: The First Three Years. I'm really looking forward to reading them - I need some new strategies! 
  (7) Where does baby sleep? If it's changed to a different arrangement, how did you manage the transition? They've been in their cribs since day one. We didn't have room in our bedroom for sidecars (it literally would have been impossible to walk around the bed) and we didn't want them actually in our queen bed, which would be...cozy...with two adults and two kids! So cribs it was.

  Awww, thanks!  I really hope they stay blue.  I have hazel, MH has hazel so not sure why his are so darn blue.  His big sister (different mom) has brown hair blue eyes and both her mom and MH do not have blue eyes so there might be a chance!

  I'm loving all the new photos! (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? almost 10 months!
  (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Pretty good.  E just keeps getting more and more fun, though he has a lot of his own opinions now, and can be pretty demanding, hah.  He's holding onto our hands and "walking" pretty well now, and can stand by himself and balance for a few seconds w/o holding anything.
  (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? 1 year
  (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? Still struggling with the second nap.  though today, both naps were awful.  fun times.
  (5) What's one item you've splurged on preparing for baby or since becoming a parent? Hrm, i don't think we've really splurged.  maybe our stroller was a small splurge - we got a city mini based on great reviews here and elsewhere. 
  (6) Have you read/are you reading any books on child rearing? If so, what are some of your favorites? I've read a few sleep books (baby whisperer, ferber, weissbluth), but otherwise, I've done most of my reading online.  I do plan to read positive discipline and love and logic, but figured i had a few months still to get to those! 
  (7) Where does baby sleep? If it's changed to a different arrangement, how did you manage the transition? he started out in our bed, then we transitioned him to his crib at around 4 months, before i went back to work.  we started by putting him in the crib for naps, then moved to nights.  we'd sit next to the crib and pat him through the slats until he fell asleep.  then just rested our hand on his tummy, no patting.  then no hand.  then started sitting further and further away from the crib, until we could just put him down and walk out.  the whole transition process (getting him into the crib, and being able to fall asleep on his own - which he never did before) took over a month.
