Hi all, My nephew will be turning 8 in a couple of weeks and I really would like to get him a few books he can read on his own. He is going into 2nd grade, loves science, math and figuring out how things work. Any recomendations out there? TIA
I loved The Great Brain Series when I was that age and it has a lot of interesting stuff about living in the 1800's, like how the bathroom worked. They were always building things and they solve crimes.
My DD is 8 and LOVES Diary of a Whimpy Kid, The Boxcar Series and How to Train.. series. I have even read the Diary.. books and I live them. Not sure I should admit that
Re: Book Recs for 8 Year old
The Diary of Wimpy Kid books are big for that age. I volunteer in the school library and it seems like every 2nd-4th grade boy loves those books.
Ditto, my 9 yr old has loved these books for years
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, while popular, is written more for a middle school level.
