Pasteurized eggs?

Does anyone know where to buy pasteurized in-shell eggs?

  • I saw some at Sprouts, but it's been several months now.  You can also DIY: https://bakingbites.com/2011/03/how-to-pasteurize-eggs-at-home/

  • I get them at HEB.

What brand? I was at an HEB Plus this weekend and couldn't find any.

I'll also check out Sprouts. Thanks!

Sorry I didn't respond to this! They're Davidson's Safest Plus. Maybe they aren't at every HEB, mine is just a regular one, not plus. Good luck :)

  • I'm curious why you need pasteurized in-shell eggs =) I never thought of such a thing but may be in the market for some for the GAPS diet...

I like them because it's supposed to reduce the risk of salmonella to pretty much zero I think. You can eat them raw (like if you're making cookie dough or mayo or something along those lines) without having to worry about food poisoning.

My favorite way to eat eggs is sunny side up, so the yolk is practically raw. Apparently that's a bad way to eat eggs while preggo, unless they're pasteurized, due to the possibility of contamination/disease.
